FR Americas and Ligier JS F4 Series Kick Off 2024 Season at NOLA Motorsports Park Next Week

CHARLOTTE (April 4, 2024) – Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) and the new Ligier JS F4 Series will open their 2024 season next week at NOLA Motorsports Park, as the NOLA SpeedTour is set to take place April 11-14. With new race events, new partners, a new car and a new series, the 2024 season is shaping up to be an exciting one for Parella Motorsports Holdings’ (PMH) open-wheel ladder system, which is comprised of FR Americas, Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.), and the Ligier JS F4 Series.

“We’re excited to kick off the 2024 season next week at NOLA Motorsports Park for the third consecutive year,” said Scott Goodyear, race director for FR Americas and JS F4 Series. “This has been a very busy off-season, getting ready for the new car in F4 U.S., launching the Ligier JS F4 Series and expanding our relationship with Mountune. There’s been a lot of interest in all three of our championships, as our price point has the best value in U.S. open-wheel racing. Our champions were decided at the final event of the year last season, and we expect the same level of competition in 2024. The driver pool is full of impressive resumes with many returning drivers, as well as some exciting new talent. We’re ready for some great racing in all classes.”

FR Americas welcomes several new developments for 2024, comprising what is sure to be an exciting season. A seven-round championship includes a weekend at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which will bring drivers closer to their dreams as they race on the same circuit as so many of their heroes. In addition, FR Americas will make its first international stop, traveling north of the border to the iconic Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. An invitational round will bring select teams to the West Coast for FR Americas’ first California competition when they visit the historic WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, May 2-5.

With the new Ligier JS F422 debuting when F4 U.S. kicks off its season at Road America in May, the first generation Ligier JS F4 needed a new race series to call home—leading to the formation of the Ligier JS F4 Series. Drivers competing in the Ligier JS F4 Series will be racing for a scholarship, as this year’s champion will be awarded the use of a Ligier JS F422 chassis and engine from Ligier, two sets of tires per event from Hankook, and race entry fees from PMH to compete in the 2025 F4 U.S. Championship season. With the prize valued at $133,600, finding success in each of the series’ five rounds will be pivotal.

Another exciting development for the 2025 season is the new partnership with Mountune, who will serve as the engine partner for both FR Americas and the Ligier JS F4 Series this season, as the Honda K20 C1 engine is developed and engineered by Mountune.

Having overcome obstacles presented by a plant fire last spring, Hankook Motorsports will continue to provide racing slicks and rain tires for all three championships this season.

Likewise, Ligier Automotive will continue to provide chassis for all three championships, with drivers piloting the JS F3 in FR Americas, the JS F4 in the Ligier JS F4 Series, and the new JS F422 in F4 U.S. In addition, Ligier will also supply the Ligier Storm V4 by SuperHP as the powerhouse for F4 U.S. starting in 2024.
